You own a house and you have decided to put it up for sale. Should you sell it yourself or do business with a real estate broker?

First question to ask yourself is: do you have time?

All the visits to manage, all the time spent organizing the sale, negotiation etc. It takes several hours and weekends. If your schedule is already full, it will be difficult!

Second question to ask yourself is: do you have the skills?

The sale of a property has no more secrets for you? Is the management of legal documents and the drafting of the sales contract and all that it entails easy for you? Is negotiating your job?

If you answered no to any of the questions, you may be depriving yourself of an interesting ally in your transaction.

Let’s face it, selling a house is a lot of work. If in addition it is necessary to have good knowledge in the real estate market, a large network of contacts, knowledge in marketing which gives a great visibility to the property, legal knowledge and a good sense of the negotiation, you may not be able to get the best out of your sale.

So before thinking about just saving the sales commission, figure out everything else. Is the game worth the candle? It’s up to you!
